The Samsung Genoa C3510 is a low-cost touchscreen phone that should appeal to consumers on a tight budget who still want all the fun of a much more expensive device.
Carrying a suggest retail price of about €110 (or £95), the Genoa comes with a decent enough 2.8" 240 x 320 pixel display, a multimedia player, expandable memory, an FM radio, Bluetooth, USB connectivity and the all-important 3.5mm audio socket that seems to come standard on all good music phones these days.
The camera is a very basic 1.3 megapixel unit, and the Genoa C3510 is strictly a GSM-only phone, but it does at least support EDGE data in addition to GPRS.
Measuring 104 x 55 x 13mm and coming in at 92 grams, the Genoa is a quite pocket-friendly device.
But we do struggle a bit to see the point in this phone - the Genoa is only slightly cheaper than the slightly better specified Corby / Genio S3650, but perhaps the more sober design of the Genoa might appeal to some.
The Genoa is currently available in the UK through Carphone Warehouse stores and online, other countries including Russia and Poland will follow suit soon.

Along with the Samsung Wave that was announced at MWC, Samsung has also introduced another smartphone, the Samsung Halo (i8520). This mobile phone comes with a twist in the form of an integrated pico sized DLP projector that can project digital video on a nearby wall.
In addition to the projector, the Samsung smartphone comes packed with features including a 3.7-inch WVGA Super AMOLED display screen, an 8-megapixel digital camera as well as a front VGA camera, support for 720p digital video recording, DivX and XviD support and 16GB of internal storage which like many mobile phones these days can be expanded further with a microSD card. Rounding out the features are 802.11b/g/n wireless connectivity, Bluetooth technology and assisted GPS.
The Android powered Samsung I8520 will come with a “Specialized Projector UI” and is expected to launch throughout Europe in the third quarter of this year. Pricing was not available.

The Samsung Monte S5620 is an upcoming touchscreen phone that looks quite interesting, but the confusingly named Samsung Monte Slider E2550 is completely different. Apart from the name and the Samsung badge, there is very little in common between these two devices apart from some styling details.
Like the disappointing Samsung Shark range, the Monte slider is.. well, disappointing. In fact, it's not far off the specification of the Samsung Shark 3 which is a similarly underpowered slider phone.

The Samsung Monte Bar C3200 is a low-end midrange handset that is almost completely unrelated to the Monte S5620 touchscreen phone apart from a slight wedge shape and some minor functional crossover when it comes to the likes of social networking support.
